Walking in Scotland

If you enjoy walking, then we can take you to places that are really 'off the beaten track', but should appeal to walkers of all abilities.
Whenever possible, we try to get you ashore every day so that you can stretch your legs. For some people, this might be a gentle stroll, while others may want to tackle something a little more strenuous. The only limitations that we may impose will be governed by safety, the weather and time.
Although you will normally be accompanied by a guide on your cruise, we don't insist that you stay together as a group when ashore, although this may mean that you will miss some of the features that your guide would otherwise point out. If you do want to 'do your own thing' then providing that you are adequately equipped and fully aware of any local hazards, this should not normally be a problem. When we visit St Kilda, there are safety guidelines given by the ranger, to which we adhere at all times.
When going ashore, you will always be briefed beforehand when appropriate and your guide/group will be able to maintain radio contact with the ship via VHF radio.
