How about a holiday with a difference?

Have you ever thought about doing something that's really different? Chalice Charters specialise in running 'themed' cruises, hosted by a specialist in a particular subject. This can be anything from art or photography to botany or geology.

Our most successful cruises to date have been art and photography. These trips are relaxed, interesting and fun! Although there is a loose structure to your time with us, the emphasis is on letting you discover new ways to enjoy your hobby or interest. An expert is on hand to coach where necessary, but more importantly, simply to offer you friendly advice and tips to encourage you. They will lso be working too - so you can see exactly how the 'pro's' do it.

What's on offer?

PHOTOGRAPHY - each year we run a cruise that is led by Chris Gomersall,  holder of the prestigious European Wildlife Photographer of the Year award. Well, that was up until this year when news of the trip leaked out before we had advertised it and it filled withing days! So we've arranged a 'mark 2' cruise with a different itinerary and that is now filling well too. Chris's work takes him not only all over the UK and Europe but as far as Antarctica and Asia.

PAINTING AND DRAWING - In the past we've run some excellent trips with top wildlife artist Bruce Pearson. Bruce is a great travelling companion with a passion for wildlife and the outdoors. He's travelled worldwide and produced fantastic images from all over the globe. A piece of work that he completed while on board Chalice in 2006 entitled 'Stac' went on to win the GMAC (Europe) Art Award.

We're now really excited to be able to introduce another professional artist - Carol White. Carol is a qualified & experienced F.E. Tutor, a Professional Associate to the Society of all Artists, -Tutor for The Federation of Northern Art Societies and The Open College of Art. A member of The Network of Artists in Northumberland she
teaches painting classes in South Tyneside and holds regular full-day painting workshops some lovely Northumberland venues. Carol travels to art clubs/societies and community groups throughout the Northern Counties and Border regions teaching and demonstrating. Carol works in and teaches in watercolour, oil, acrylics and the new Interactive Acrylic paints by Chroma.

PRIVATE CHARTER

Of course you don't have to come on one of our own scheduled cruises to benefit from this type of holiday. Every year we host trips for groups or clubs with a specific interest - this could well be phtography or art, but includes botany, geology and wildlife. Whatever you're interest - if involves the outdoors we can probably put together a great holiday for you and your friends.
